Mohamed Salah tests positive for coronavirus once more. This worsens Liverpool’s injury crisis. Rhy Williams has been left out of England’s under-21 squad as an insurance due to a hip injury.

With Fabinho who was consigning in central defence missing, Liverpool’s head coach Jurgen Kloop is in a dilemma. He is without his first-choice back four Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez who are suffering from knee injuries.

Jurgen Klopp is doubtful about Alexander Arnold and Andy Robert as they face Leicester City on Sunday and also Williams might not be part of the squad.

England under-21 coach Boothroyd says that Williams has a minor stiff hip and it is best that he returns to Liverpool.

He added, “With all the players, if there’s any potential injuries or niggles then our medical staff is in contact with the club.”

On international duty with his national team Egypt, Mo Salah tests positive for coronavirus after a positive examination on Wednesday.

Williams has made an appearance in all Liverpool’s Champions League group-stage matches so far and two league matches this season.

He could have made his debut against Leicester on Sunday. This is because key players in Liverpool’s defence are on the bench due to injury.

Van Dijk got his injury during a Merseyside derby with Everton after a collision with Everton’s goalkeeper Pickford. Fabinho also got his injury 30 minutes after Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Ajax.

On the other hand, Gomez got a knee injury while training with his national team England.
