Derek was seen kneeling on unarmed man’s neck while he pleaded with him saying he could not breathe reportedly for 5 minutes straight before Floyd passed out.

He was later taken to hospital and was later declared dead. Sad huh!

According to the New York times report, the video recorded by a witness and shared widely on social media incited community outrage.

Thus, an F.B.I. civil rights investigation and the firing of Chauvin and three colleagues also identified as Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng.

However the protesters who went by the  #Ican’tbreathe and #blacklives matter were dispersed with teargas.

Online, many celebrities including Hollywood actor and musician Jimmie Fox have condemned the actions of the four officers and are asking for justice or Floyd among others.

Call for Justice

At the same time, the Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis was quick to condemn the officers’ actions.

On Wednesday, he called on prosecutors to file charges against the officer who had his knee on Mr. Floyd’s neck.

As the rage continues around the killing of Floyd many have  come out to seek justice for the African American people.

Many have been angered by this events that have since sparked conversations online.

In Kenya former news anchor Janet Mbugua posted on her Instagram to express her disappointment on the death of Floyd.

This just but a call to end racism around the world and stop using people for statistic especially in a “free world”. I mean how much longer will this go on?
